HI, hope ok to write in english, first time using forum. I have been trying to find out information on a motovespa 200ds engine I bought. It is only the enginge I have got and would like to make sure that it is in working order. The engine is in good condition and very clean. The only problem I can not find out is getting a spark from the engine. I have the origanal femsa black box which has the H.T coil in it also two brown and one black wire. I have six wires coming from femsa stator and have tried fitting the two brown and one black from fesma ox to same colour wires from engine. If any one knows about the 200ds engine and could help i would be very greatful, I have been searching for weeks to find any information. I would like to find out if the eletrical side of the engine is ok before I start to replace things as they might be ok and just I am not doing somthung correct. Its the last thing I can try else it will go for sale. Hope some one can help. The site is great and good that I am able to use it. DARREN

Hello Darren, the world of DS is little, I'm Salvo .... we have already written long ago remember? also because i think that my DS is the only one in Italy !
I realized that your problem is that you have not spark.
The engine is on a test like I did?:

In this case, if you connected all like the DS'diagram that I send you long ago you should connect a iron cable or electrical cable that goes from the black BOBINA FEMSATRONIC to the engine to do "massa"!
In this way, is the orange cable in the photo....or you have to fix directli the black BOBINA FEMSATRONIC on the carters in some way...

I ope you will obtain spark in this way, if dasen't work better you check better all the connections and put phots of the connections hier and show it...
Before you disassembled the wespa worked good the electrical sistem?
I hoope i can help you...whit maybee the only DS in SCOTLAND!!!!
Maybee one day we will organize a meeting wit all DS outside Spain hahaha (sorry, i not remember maiby if you live in Scotland or not!)

| thank you all for the help...i will try getting the engine to get a spark on weekend, i will let you know how i get on and if need to will put up some pics of engine thanks all again darren |
